Around the Gooimeer lake.

Huizen-Naarden-Almere Haven.
(plm. 45 km).

My honest thanks are meant for the first explorer of this route, Jan Barendregt.
He gave me the information I needed to make this trip. On his site there are more tours in the area. I hope to do them in the future as well.

A tour athmosphere will follow here as well.
Just wait a moment for it. At the moment you find a tour description and a map, which will be sufficient to do the trip by yourself.

Tour description info...

I personally started the tour from the P&R parking lot under the A27 viaduct, near the Almere-Haven (habour) exit, from where the following description begins. Of course the tour can be started from elsewhere along the route.
Here's the route:

  1. Cross over the Gooiseweg and follow the path up to the Stichtse bridge, keeping in the direction of "Huizen".
  2. Keep skating straight on, going under the bridge, past sports fields and open land. This is the Stichtseweg (road). You would expect the Huizen built-up area, but after a little bridge you come across the sign for Blaricum village.
  3. The Stichtseweg carries straight on. Because of the quality you may be better off taking the road rather than the cycle track.
  4. Follow the Stichtseweg until the crossroads with the Randweg Oost. Turn right and skate the cycle path.
  5. As an alternative you could take an approximately parallel cycle path that goes through greenery - about 50m before the crossroads.
  6. Turn left at the T-junction onto the cycle path along the Randweb Midden. The alternative cycle path crosses the busy road at Merk and continues through the greenery.
  7. At the T-junction we go right into Blaricummerstraat, and following that turn immediately left into Dr Kuyperlaan.
  8. The alternative cycle path comes out on Gooilandweg or Dr. Lelylaan.
  9. Dr. Lelylaan becomes Dr. Kuyperlaan, which is the end of the alternative section.
  10. Turn right into Groen van Prinstererlaan, and then left into Aalberselaan, which brings you to Crailoseweg.
  11. Turn left into Crailoseweg and choose one of the two parallel (service) roads on the left/right of the Crailoseweg.
  12. Keep going until you can see the overpass of the A1 motorway. Skate past the Tafelberger heath on the left, and past De Trappenberg rehabilitation center on the right.

  13. Turn right before the A1 motorway into the Amersfoort road. Here your badly vibrated feet finally get a break on the smooth asphalt.
  14. After some time there is a flyover over the A1 on the left. Cross the busy Huizerweg, take this flyover and turn right before the Shell petrol station into the Amersfoort road, which is on the other side of the motorway.
  15. Shortly thereafter turn left into the Burg. s'Jacoblaan. Apart from a few traffic tresholds, this has a good skating surface. We are now in Bussum.
  16. Follow the Burg. s'Jacoblaan until you can turn right into the Willem Bilderdijklaan by a wider section of the road.
  17. Keep going in between the large Gooi villa's, (it resembles a TV soap decor here) and cross over the Brediusweg, going straight into the Paulus Potterlaan.
  18. On the crossing of the Brediusweg there will be the famous restaurant Jan Tabak on the right, and on the left some cafes before a stop sign.
  19. Carry on to the end of the Paulus Potterlaan, and turn left at the T-junction, and immediately right along some water. This is the Rubenslaan.
  20. Again skate to the T-junction at the end and turn left into the Van de Helstlaan.
  21. At the next T-junction turn right into the Jan ter Gouwweg, which comes out onto the old State route through Naarden.

  22. Stay on this side of the busy road, and turn left into the Godelindeweg.
  23. Go on until the bridge, and then cross over to the other side past the traffic lights (over the water).
  24. Turn left and follow the cycle track along the Rijksweg and past the Ford dealer.
  25. Carry on straight until you turn left onto the Keverdijk.
  26. A little further on turn right into the brick paved Churchillstraat. Follow this right to the sharp bend to the right by the canal.
  27. We are going to go straight, so walk in your skates over the bridge, and turn left into the cycle track on the other side of the canal. This follows the Amsterdam Road. A perfect concrete path, although short.
  28. Turn right and speed skate into the cycle track along the IJsselmeerweg, under the A1 motorway, and follow in the direction Naarderbos. The traffic gets less busy, the paths better and the environment more beautiful.
  29. Stay on the twisty path after the yacht harbour and go through the woods until you eventually see the road approach to the Hollandsebrug.

  30. We're going under the flyover, cross over to the left and turn immediately right, and follow the bend in the road onto the bridge. The direction to follow is always Almere.
  31. Just next to the Flevo railway line we go over the Gooimeer (lake).
  32. On the other side the road goes down, and we turn left at the first T-junction in the direction of Almere Haven (harbour).
  33. The road turns left and under the railway line here. Go further left under the bridge exit through to the beach. Keep following Almere Haven.
  34. At last you reach the beautiful surroundings of the Gooimeerdijk-West. Follow the cycle track to Almere Haven.

  35. Skate around the marina or stop at a roadside café.
  36. After the marina right over the bridge and immediately left and down past the cemetary. This is where you'll end up if you can't brake well.
  37. Keep on following the Oosterdreef and turn right after the cemetary back towards the dyke.
  38. Via the original hairpin bends you will come back skating on top of the dyke on the cycle track.
  39. Now follow the Gooimeerdijk-Oost (East) till you reach the Stichtsebrug (bridge) again.
  40. Turn left there and follow that road back to where you can put your inline skates off again.
